I think people love skiing so much because of the unbelievable adrenaline rush you feel just before you head down a run. The reason you get that adrenaline rush must be because you know that the only thing that stands between you and a serious injury is your own ability and common sense.
Adrenaline rush and I cant speak for anybody else but there have been moments on a bluebird day where there is fresh snow on the ground and you are in the zone where nothing else in the world matters.
Whether I'm taking a line through the trees, dropping off a cliff, finding my speed limit on an empty groomer, or simply making sweet powder turns, I am 100% engaged in the experience. In the backcountry or in untracked powder I experience a unique and meaningful form of transcendence.
